Upholstery Materials
Velvet
Our upholstery materials are high-quality fabrics used for making seats for our benches. Due to their properties, they are an excellent choice for those who desire bright finishes that do not wear out quickly. They are perfect for furniture upholstery. Velvety velvet is easy to clean and stain-resistant, meaning that stains can be easily removed. Additionally, our fabrics are pet-friendly. They have increased protection against snags from pet claws.
Weaves
Weaves are the oldest form of fabric that laid the foundation for weaving techniques. The first weaves were created in prehistoric times from loosely woven fibers, grasses, strips of animal hides, branches, or vines. Today’s upholstery weaves are fabrics woven flat with warp and weft threads crossing at appropriate angles depending on the model. They are characterized by a distinct weave and resistance to abrasion and durability.
When choosing a weave, it is worth paying attention to parameters:
- Fabric Abrasion Resistance: Measured by the Martindale test using a machine that rubs the upholstery material with wool or sandpaper with great force. The higher the value, the better the material. About 4000 cycles are enough for a year of intensive use.
- Weight: The weight of the material expressed in grams per square meter (g/m2). However, this is not the main determinant of material quality.
- Tensile Strength: The expressed load capacity until the material tears. The value is given separately for warp and weft.
- UV Resistance: How quickly the fabric fades in light.
Special Fabric Properties
- Antibacterial Certificate: Fabrics prevent the development of bacteria Staphylococcus aureus.
- Cleanboo Certificate: The fabric does not absorb liquids significantly. Liquids form droplets that can be easily removed.
- Oeko-Tex Certificate: Products that have received this certificate from the Institute of Textile Research do not exceed accepted levels of pesticides, chlorophenols, formaldehyde, allergenic dyes, prohibited azo dyes, and extractable heavy metals.
- Fira Certificate: A non-flammability certificate awarded by the British association supporting furniture companies.
Eco Weaves
We also offer Nature Line fabrics, which are largely made from natural ingredients such as cotton, linen, and viscose. These plant-based fabrics are breathable, allow you to be closer to nature, and some collections have antifungal properties. Nature Line upholstery fabric is available in attractive pastel colors and timeless checks.
Plush
Looking for a fabric that is extremely soft and pleasant to the touch? If so, your choice should be plush or velour. These velvety materials have a nap that gives the fabric a certain softness. In addition, plush upholstery fabrics give furniture an elegant character and are very resistant to abrasion. They also come in wide color palettes, including muted and fashionable grays, vivid and energetic reds or yellows, and calm pastel shades.
Plush is a fabric with a very short pile, below 3 mm, which can be cotton, silk, or wool. This pile is obtained by introducing additional pile threads in the form of loops between the warp and weft threads. In addition to smooth plush, there are also patterned ones.
Plush has had several major comebacks over the centuries and has been considered the most noble material, originating in India. It reached Europe in the 12th century, and in Poland, it began to be appreciated in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Velour
Velour is a pile fabric made using the rod weaving technique. It is obtained by cutting the additional pile warp and splitting its ends, creating a pile fabric. Velour is easy to clean, has a pleasant and delicate surface to the touch, and is very durable. It is used in car seat upholstery, upholstered furniture, and clothing production. Moreover, velour is considered a symbol of luxury and elegance, giving class to any room in which it is used.
Velvet Fabrics
Velvet fabrics are a series of modern textiles. Velvet is a type of plush. Velvet upholstery fabric usually has a smooth texture. These upholstery fabrics are characterized by their softness to the touch, which is their hallmark. Velvet fabrics are specially selected collections that meet the needs of even the most demanding customers, who prioritize resistance to various external factors and durability against wear.
Properties and Uses
When choosing any upholstery fabric from the velvet collection, you are informed about its light resistance, thickness, abrasion resistance, and many other features. Each collection has a product specification. It is worth familiarizing yourself with it, as it provides valuable information regarding cleaning and whether the fabric is hypoallergenic, antibacterial, or breathable.
Applications
Velvet fabrics are diverse collections. Choosing the right upholstery fabric is an important aspect, as the final effect of the furniture largely depends on the fabric used. Upholstery fabric significantly influences the customer’s final decision. Therefore, when choosing upholstery fabric, consider the daily use and function of the furniture, and then select the appropriate fabrics for that purpose. Velvet fabrics are suitable for upholstering furniture such as corner sofas, sofas, couches, armchairs, poufs, beds, couches, convertibles, and as additions in the form of cushions, as well as inserts in furniture.
Faux Leather
Faux leathers are known as an economical substitute for natural leather. However, given that the ever-evolving textile industry equips them with ever better properties, it is often the imitation that surpasses the original. The same is true for suede covered with a layer of short fiber. We have prepared suede dyed in various shades that highlight the aesthetic values of upholstered furniture and textiles made from it. The incredible softness that distinguishes the material will surely be appreciated by even the most demanding users.
The flexible and pleasant-to-the-touch faux leather also works well as a base for making a wide range of leather goods and small leather items. Using it, and also with suede, you can sew bags, backpacks, pouches, or wallets. It also looks perfect as upholstery in the production and renovation of furniture such as elegant sofas, couches, and armchairs for a living room frequently visited by guests. Our faux leathers stand out for their high durability and low permeability, making them easy to maintain. Any dirt can be easily removed from the material’s surface, often just by wiping the soiled surface with a damp cloth.
